Workflow Applications - Part I

As a PhD Student, I’ve had to incorporate complex tools across the tasks of getting relevant information, extraction, storage into input sources, processing of notes and archiving them.

There are 54 tools I am using as of now, with almost weekly updates, so I would keep editing this post.

  13. Reeder with Feedly and Pocket - News/RSS reading
  14. Command Browser - Web Annotation
  15. Obsidian - Note Processing. Powerful Markdown editor. VSCode of markdown. Use it for creating my own wikis
  16. Anki - Final destination for stuff I want to remember
  17. Notability with Apple Pencil - Digital Hand notes
  18. DevonThink - Document Management.OCR
  19. Popclip - Text actions
  20. Unclutter - Clipboard.Temporary Storage. Menu bar Notes
  21. Alfred - Replaces Spotlight launcher. My favourite app
  22. Magnet/Bartender/Cheatsheet - Efficiency tools - window snapping, menu bar organizer, App specific shortcuts via hotkey
  23. Keyboard Maestro - Most powerful app? Use it for Hotkeys, Macros and Snippets
  24. Things - My GTD app of choice and now also note management
  25. Texpad/Texstudio - Latex IDE
  26. Pomodoro Timer - Any app will do. The method works!
